MSC Seaside deck plans are well designed, with separate levels for public spaces and staterooms. The lower four decks pack in restaurants, bars, the lively atrium, general services, and the Aurea Spa and Fitness Center. Cabins are housed all together on decks 9 through 15, with the Yacht Club located on Deck 16 along with the main pool and a few restaurants. However, we were disappointed by the quality of the food in the assigned dining room.

Revolutionary and stunning, the first of MSC Cruises' Seaside Class was introduced in 2017 with the arrival of the 160,000-ton, 5,179-guest MSC Seaside. Aptly named, she was designed to enhance the cruise experience by providing a sense of closeness to the sea and is the largest in the fleet with the most outdoor space per passenger than any other cruise ship. Adding to this spacious open feel, are glass elevators boasting panoramic views and a glass-floored unique walkway. Expect the Fusion Restaurant with specialty dining and VIP Fine Dining Restaurant. The 9 onboard eateries feature cuisines from all around the world including the Pan-Asian restaurant via the partnership with acclaimed chef, Roy Yamaguchi, world-class international steak house and luxury seafood restaurant with Chef's Table.

MSC Seaside offers endless fun for everyone, with a high-tech theater, bowling alleys and an interactive, multi-story water park featuring 5 water slides, an adventure trail and an AquaPlay™ area designed for tots. There are also colorful kids’ play areas created in partnership with LEGO® and Chicco®. Speaking of that Yacht Club area, it truly does offer a lot more than what you’ll find in other VIP sections of other cruise ships, with other cruise lines.
It covers five decks, and offers a themed restaurant, as well as a private theater, private pool and a private bowling alley. It boasts a gross tonnage of 153,516 GT; a length of 1,060 feet; and 18 decks. It can hold 4,132 passengers at double occupancy, and 5,119 passengers at maximum capacity. Remember, a lower price tag might be tempting, but it's essential to consider what you may be compromising in terms of quality, safety, and overall enjoyment. There's more to a memorable cruise experience than just a cheap fare. The casino bar, in particular, was in disarray, with liquor bottles, tools, used glasses, and cans scattered across the counter, making it difficult for bartenders to work efficiently. The presence of an open bucket labeled "chlorine" near the back bar, next to consumable areas, was concerning and raised questions about safety and proper storage practices. Moreover, the availability of clean glasses was inconsistent, as dirty glasses were often mixed with clean ones.

MSC Seaside was based off the shipbuilder’s Project Mille, a cruise ship prototype that was conceptualized more than a decade before it was actually put into use, when it came to building MSC Seaside. When MSC Cruises placed the order for their two initial Seaside ships, they placed the order for a 154,000 GT ship. Instead, both initial Seaside-class ships came out under this, at 153,516 GT each for MSC Seaside and MSC Seaview, which entered service in June 2018.
Regrettably, our recent experience aboard the MSC Seaside has done little to elevate our perception of MSC cruises. We had hoped to see improvements in areas such as service quality, maintenance, and overall guest experience. However, we found that similar issues persisted, leading us to question the cruise line's commitment to addressing the concerns raised by passengers. A chocolate, gelato and coffee corner where guests can indulge in some of Venchi’s finest treats while watching the Venchimaîtres chocolatiers creating authentic Italian recipes through the glass window overlooking the kitchen lab. Another pool with a retractable roof is nearer some of the children’s areas, making it a good fit for those who want to keep an eye on the kids while still enjoying the water. Lastly, there’s a private pool for the MSC Yacht Club passengers, with cabanas.
